- Developed Perl program to resolve trade disputes automating
the process of searching for customer. This enabled the legal
department to use the information provided to them to within
hours of their request.
- Created Korn shell scripts to page support personnel during
business hours to reduce notification time of excess CPU usage
reducing notification time from over 1 hour down to 5 minutes.
The end result was far less down time for a multimillion dollar,
real-time trading system and provided better capacity planning.
- Debugged and tested middleware for Java real-time trading system.

- Performed 7x24 production support for Fidelity's live,
electronic trading system on Stratus and Unix Sun Solaris
operating systems.
- Tracked problems to resolution. Duties included
creating reports for upper management on status and proposed
resolutions, gathering vital information to deal with the
problem at hand, testing application fixes, and working
with development team to ensure that proposed solutions
were implemented.
- Created and updated training documentation and updated the
department processes and procedures. Gathered
information from the development staff to create the first
set of online documentation which improved efficiency and
productivity of end-users and the department staff.
- Provided 7x24 training to various teams in the company.
- Created Korn shell scripts to automate application monitoring
and machine recycling saving time and reducing human errors.
- Automated tabulating of data from remote systems for capacity
planning involving creating a Korn shell script to ftp
over files from remote boxes. This allowed
management to see the current machine utilization and
accurately predict when hardware capacity expansion
was required.
- Updated Korn shell script that improved nightly processing
of updating accounts to use less disk space, improve error
reporting, and improve the system performance by using
multiply processes. Reports ran in one sixth
of the original time and no longer caused the machine
to run out of disk space.
